Diane Grace Pereiro, 70, Of Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport resident Diane Grace (Renkavinsky) Pereiro died at Bridgeport Hospital on July 24. She was 70.

Pereiro was born Jan. 26, 1945, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Jacek Pereiro. After graduating from Bridgeport High School in 1963, she worked in the training department at Sikorsky.

She moved with her then-husband Richard Renkavinsky to Monroe, where they lived and raised a family for more than 30 years. A two-time cancer survivor, Pereiro enjoyed breeding parakeets and making realistic sketches. The Connecticut Counsel of Family Service Agencies honored Pereiro with a family champion award for her work with Catholic charities and Jewish family services.

Pereiro is survived by her son Aron Renkavinsky and his wife Shanna Renkavinsky of Terryville, and grandchildren Caleb and Noah. She is also survived by her former spouse of 34 years Richard Renkavinsky of Easton, sister Kathleen Pereiro Cody of Bridgeport, niece Patricia Cody Beneway of Danbury, and nephew Mark Cody of Shelton.

The family invites friends to attend a graveside-service at 11 a.m. July 29 in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Harvester Road, Easton. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Jewish Family Services of Bridgeport.
